Syrian Refugees in Lebanon Trapped by the Mercy of War

This report aims to monitor the situation of Syrian refugees amidst the ongoing military operations in Lebanon and to assess the impact of these events on internal displacement and reverse return toward Syrian territories, as well as the challenges associated with these movements.

Syrian refugees are living under difficult conditions, struggling with rising living costs and increased discrimination due to Lebanon’s economic crises.

Despite some facilitations provided by the Syrian government for returnees, significant obstacles to returning to Syria remain, particularly for those who have lost their homes or face security issues.

Given the Syrian regime’s approach to the issue of refugee returns and the protracted nature of the conflict, it is likely that Syrian refugees will remain trapped between the war in Lebanon and the difficulties of returning to their homeland, with their needs relatively neglected by both the Lebanese and Syrian governments.
